This is an rare opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to step into an Environmental Manager position at an international engineering firm in Brisbane.
With a host of projects across sectors including transport, water, defence, mining and energy, you will be tasked with strategically leading the Environmental Group throughout Queensland.
The focus of this role will be someone with strong management skills. This is an established team with members that have been with the company for some time. There are also long-standing clients that give repeat business.
Reporting to the Regional Manager you will be working with other discipline managers to help direct the company and grow your team. Generally, the Environmental Group will be involved in assessments and planning at a strategic level.
Your role will include:
- Client management and relationship management
- Group leadership - mentoring existing members and recruiting new members to the team
- Project leadership - directing major projects with key clients (both public and private)
- Environmental expertise - assessments, approvals and planning
- Commercial management - profit / loss, reporting, forward planning
- 20 + years of experience as an environmental scientist or engineer
- Management experience ast a team or group level
- Consulting experience is essential
- A relevant science or engineering degree
- Citizenship or Permanent Residency - this is mostly to be part of Defence related work
- A salary in the region of $200-250k including superannuation
- Flexibility including work-from-home up to 2 days a week and different / start finish times
- A modern office based in the city with full facilities
- The ability to work on major international projects as well (if you wish)
