An opportunity has become available for an Environmental Program Manager to come and join our Environment team here at Snowy Hydro. This role will develop and deliver environmental management and land use planning improvements that will benefit existing operations, capital projects, and other business functions, integrating with strategic asset, sustainability, and other relevant plan objectives. This is a full-time role based in Cooma NSW.
This role will see you:
Develop, lead and contribute to the environment and sustainability teams work programs and identifying improvements
Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the environmental management system (EMS) and broader integrated (CGS) system
Identify and lead the improvement of environmental and risk management processes
Prepare and manage studies, assessments and approvals and lead the delivery of initiatives and new programs to functional areas
Participate in the design and delivery of environmental monitoring and assurance programs
Establish, manage, and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, government agencies stakeholders
Provide specialist advice to internal stakeholders and functional areas to ensure improvements are integrated and delivered collaboratively
Design and deliver training and awareness programs that embed the improvement into the system and culture
We are looking for:
Tertiary qualification in environmental planning, management, sciences, engineering or related discipline
Excellent understanding of environmental management practices and processes and how to improve them
Demonstrated experience (at least 5 years) in the development and implementation of environmental improvement programs
Proven experience in managing work activities in line with set timeframes, budgets and resources
Demonstrated ability to develop credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders
Strong background in communications, report writing and project management
