- Salary: $82,465 up to $117,884 per annum plus Superannuation and an Operational Motor Vehicle under leaseback arrangement. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

About the position
You will contribute to protecting the environmental and public health of the Wollongong LGA as part of the Environmental Planning Team.
In this role no two days are alike. On any given day you may be out in the field investigating or advising on contaminated land and water quality matters; providing advice and support to other parts of Council to promote WHS or building relationships with key stakeholders, including other agencies, to respond to pollution matters.
You will also be responsible for maintaining Council's relevant information systems; undertake strategy, policy and procedure development and deliver associated training to Council staff.
Additionally, you will review technical reports, plans and studies associated with city planning and development activities.

Selection Criteria
For your application to be considered please ensure that you address the following criteria:
- Bachelor level qualification in Science, Environmental Science or relevant to this position (in your application, please demonstrate/outline how your qualification is relevant to this role).
- Demonstrated experience in responding to contamination and/or pollution incidents and developing WHS or remediation strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing and interpreting contaminated land, environmental impact and water quality assessments, plans and reports.
- Proven ability to research, analyse and solve complex issues and problems and provide advice to relevant stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and delivery of policies and procedures and associated training.
- Possession of a current class C drivers' licence or equivalent.
