Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for an experienced Area Manager/Principal to lead our North Sydney office.
What You Can Expect as Area Manager:
As part of the Senior Executive Team, you will be the technical lead on major projects and the champion for developing and elevating the technical skills of our highly effective team. You will focus on driving business growth by identifying and creating new opportunities, whilst fostering and developing our existing client relationships.
You will be responsible for the management of the Sydney office and overseeing the productivity and efficiency of the team with the support of our experienced Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Fostering a supportive workplace culture.
- Technical review and sign-off of fee proposals, tenders and reports.
- Driving the sales and profit for the Sydney office.
- Managing recruitment and performance management of the Sydney team.
- Mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Ensuring all client deliverables are high quality.
- Providing technical and pragmatic advice to our clients.
- Taking the Project Director role on major projects.
- Supporting our NSW EPA accredited Site Auditor.
- Working alongside our preeminent Certificated Occupational Hygienist.
- Keeping up to date with the latest legislation and guidelines.
- Business development to secure new business, including tracking tenders/opportunities.
- Working with our marketing team and attending conferences and workshops when necessary.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Certified Environmental Practitioner – Site Contamination (CEnvP SC) OR working towards your certification.
- Extensive technical knowledge of national and NSW environmental legislation / guidance.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management, prioritisation, and
organisation skills. - Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the consultancy industry, with a minimum of 5 years recent experience based in NSW.
- A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An existing client base and industry network (desirable).
- Is working towards becoming a NSW EPA accredited Site Auditor (desirable).
- Knowledge of occupational hygiene / hazardous materials (desirable).

Details:
Location: North Sydney
Salary: $200k+ negotiable (ex. super) + bonus.
Employment Time: Full-time
Minimum Experience: 15 years
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Visa Requirements: Must be an Australian citizen / work visa with no sponsorship requirements.
