About the Role
The Shires of Toodyay and Victoria Plains are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Environmental Sustainability Officer. Hosted by the Shire of Toodyay, this shared role will involve leading the development and implementation of a Biodiversity Strategy, providing advice, and promoting Environmental Sustainability within our jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of a Biodiversity Strategy to protect and enhance our natural environment.
Provide expert advice and guidance on Environmental Sustainability initiatives to both Shires.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote awareness and engagement in environmental conservation efforts.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs and initiatives.
Work closely with local communities to foster a culture of environmental stewardship and responsibility.
Requirements:
Proven relevant knowledge and experience in Environmental Sustainability or related field.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
Commitment to working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve continuous improvement.
Relevant qualifications in environmental science, natural resource management, or a related discipline.
Benefits:
Competitive base salary of $72,000-$76,000 per annum plus superannuation.
