About this opportunity

You will complete a Certificate IIICivil Construction over 36 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with a Host Employer.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform civil infrastructure tasks including roads, kerb and gutter, drainage, footpaths, and streetscape infrastructure
• Undertake general labouring tasks as require including, but not limited to hand digging and shovelling, manual handling, laying pavers, stormwater / subsoil drainage, basic formwork, soft and hard landscaping, street furniture and signage.
• Learn how to conduct maintenance and checks on plant equipment prior to usage
• Assist in general Civil Construction duties that are within the limits of the skills, competence and ability of an apprentice

Adelaide with some intra-state travel

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following capabilities and knowledge:

• Commitment to both on and off the job training
• Demonstrated interest and passion for the construction trade
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong understanding of safety and manual handling techniques
• Strong attention to detail
• Passion for working outdoors and physically fit to perform manual tasks

Mandatory Requirements

• WHS Construction Industry Induction (White Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Drivers Licence 
• Ability to undertake a Medical including a drug and alcohol screen, audiometry, and spirometry
