The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from skilled Engineers who are passionate about their work and committed to providing the highest level of service. The Opportunity
The B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) plays a crucial role in supporting the 24/7 operation of RFDS Queensland by ensuring that all scheduled maintenance for aircraft associated with the base and any fleet AOG defects are adequately covered during peak periods. This role is essential for RFDS to maintain expected "on-time performance" (OTP) while minimising the impact of technical defects on aircraft shift availability. Doing so helps to reduce Direct Maintenance Costs (DMCs) and ensure the safe, compliant operational performance of the RFDS Fleet that serves the people of Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Conduct weekly scheduled aircraft line maintenance checks of aircraft on time and without impact on aircraft network availability
- Conduct troubleshooting and rectification of any line defects arising daily in the course of flight operations for all aircraft at the base and those transiting on tasking
- Availability for AOG call-out after hours for fleet defect rectification Queensland-wide.
- Manage Aircraft inventory including; parts, store, database and compliance with storage conditions set out in MOE
- Ensure compliant management, storage and usage of tooling and GSE
- Contribute to business improvement/quality programs and enterprise risk management activities
- Compliance with all Occupational, Health, Safety & Welfare policies and procedures
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
- Minimum 5 years Aircraft Maintenance experience
- Proven experience with turboprop engines specific to RFDS QLD Aircraft Types
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to pick up new computer applications.
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment concerning Aircraft Maintenance
- Maintenance control experience
- Supply chain management experience
