The role carries significant responsibilities in terms of ensuring that engineering and technical activities are conducted effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. You will play a crucial role in the successful completion and operation of projects, which directly impacts the company's reputation, client satisfaction, and overall business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the electrical technical scope of projects, providing Electrical Engineering support to site-based engineers and projects teams.
- Provide technical advice to planning and site-based maintenance teams to ensure the safety and integrity of electrical systems across the business.
- Perform electrical calculations and produce electrical documentation in a hands-on manner, utilizing technical expertise to maintain quality and accuracy.
- Carry out electrical design and project tasks, following Australian standards.
- Propose and implement solutions for complex equipment challenges.
- Contribute to identifying, developing, and executing improvement projects.
- Support ongoing enhancements to electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for operational reliability and KPI reporting.
- Investigate electrical system failures and implement measures to improve reliability.
- Use statistical tools to analyze failure data and improve equipment reliability.
- Work with operations and maintenance teams to enhance overall equipment performance.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, recognized by Engineers Australia and 5+ years’ industry experience (minimum 3+ years post-graduate) in an Electrical Engineering role within the mining & mineral processing sector in Australia.
- Thorough knowledge of power generation and transmission, fixed plant equipment, bulk materials handling equipment or heavy mobile equipment is essential.
- Effortless problem-solving skills with root cause analysis.
- A curious an innovative mindset, showcasing adept problem-solving skills, with an eagerness for continuous learning.
- Ability to work across various discipline projects, establish project criteria, and manage competing project elements.
- Ability to make and defend decisions, often with limited information.
- Eagerness to be based on or travel to site to build stakeholder relationships and to gain in-depth practical understanding.
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering strong collaborative relationships.
