West Coast Vets is looking for the right person to join our equine nursing team for the 2024 breeding season (starting mid August-approx mid Feb-to be discussed) The position would be for 4 days a week (38 hours minimum). Located Forrestdale, Western Australia.
Key responsibilities
* Oversee care of equine and farm animals
* General nursing activities across the hospital
* Ability to be on call (1/10 weeks approximately)
* Maintenance of high clinical standards (emergency, medicine and surgery)
The ideal applicant
This role will suit an enthusiastic and passionate vet nurse. The successful applicant ideally should have:
*Minimum of 2 years veterinary nursing experience
* Excellent horse handling skills
* Exceptional patient care and clinical standards.
* The ability to work independently and within a team
* Self motivated and be able to follow instructions
* Be able to work well under pressure/stressful situations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Registration as a Veterinary Nurse in Western Australia
* Covid vaccinated

West Coast Veterinary Hospital is a purpose-built veterinary hospital that opened in early 2017. Our state-of-the-art hospital is located in Forrestdale, Western Australia, 20 mins south of the Perth CBD. Our caseload is 55% small animals, 40% equine and 5% farm animals. We have three spacious operating theatres, three SA consulting rooms, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, digital radiography, MRI and ultrasonography facilities.
