Your New Chapter

At VetPartners, we pride ourselves on delivering shared services support that drives success for our veterinary clinics. We are seeking a skilled and experienced IR/ER Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing industrial and employee relations within the VetPartners network across Australia. The IR/ER Manager will provide expert advice, support, and solutions on a wide range of industrial and employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve complex industrial and employee relations issues, including disputes, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on IR/ER matters, including interpretation of awards, agreements, and legislation.
  • Develop and implement IR/ER strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Represent the company in negotiations with unions, employee representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace issues and prepare reports with recommendations for resolution.
  • Deliver training and support to management on IR/ER topics to enhance understanding and compliance.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and industry trends to ensure the company remains compliant and proactive in its approach.

Skills, Attributes, and Experience:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian industrial relations laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing complex employee relations issues and negotiations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Desirable:

  • 5 years’ experience in an IR/ER role, preferably within the veterinary, healthcare or retail industry.
  • Experience in remuneration and EBA negotiations
  • Experience working with multi-site locations.
