Essential Safety Measures Inspector/Auditor
Statcom Group is a prominent company specialising in Essential Fire Safety Measures compliance throughout Australia. We offer a range of services to our clients to help building owners and managers meet their essential fire Safety Measures obligations.
We are currently looking for a reliable person to carry out audits on Essential Safety Measures at several buildings that range from Aged Care facilities, Council buildings, Schools, Industrial Warehouses, Shopfronts and many more. You will assist to identify any items of non-compliance and provide recommendations to inform building owners of potential risks and their fire safety obligations.
Inspections will include:
- Exit Door and Paths of Travel inspections
- Passive Fire Rating Audits and Reports
- OHS Hazard Identification Reports
- Evacuation Diagrams mark-ups
- Annual Audits for the purpose of signing an Annual Essential Safety Measures Report (AESMR)
The Office is located in Nunawading Victoria, butthe inspection region is primarily based in North and West of Melbourne and surrounding suburbs. Occasional work in country Victoria and interstate is also included with expenses paid.
You will be expected to manage your own monthly workload by organising inspection times with clients, and to complete inspections using our online reporting system. You will report into both the General Manager and the ESM Manager.
A Diploma of Building Inspecting/Surveying or similar is beneficial as well as a basic understanding of the relevant Building Regulations, National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards. The successful applicant will also be given on the job training so if you are a fast learner with attention to detail, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

- A basic understanding of the Building Regulations, Building Code, and relevant Australian Standards
- A current valid driver’s license
- A reliable and suitable vehicle
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Essential Safety Measures auditing
- Building Inspecting/Building Surveying
- Competencies in FPASS
- BCA auditing
- Extensive experience in fire protection installation and maintenance
- Building services knowledge or building facility management
- Proficient knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and AS1851
