Our Engineering and Construction division provides large-scale multidisciplinary project management and construction services. Due to sustained growth, we are seeking an Estimating & Performance Analytics Lead within the Tendering and Estimation team. Reporting to the National Precontracts Manager, this role will see you working from our head office in Victoria Park, providing support and assistance for the compilation of tenders and proposals within the Engineering Construction division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data for inclusion in tenders, including obtaining relevant information/data, calculating costings and providing advice and information
  • Constructing cost estimates for both staff and craft labour
  • Provide expert estimating advice to the business unit and assist with compiling major tenders, proposals and expressions of interest on behalf of the division
  • Review tender documentation and calculate costings for submissions
  • Responsible for managing plant and equipment libraries, both internally and externally
  • Manage the capture of 'actual' project performance data to support continuous performance and create competitive advantage
  • Manage norms libraries, ensuring accuracy and relevance in cost estimation processes
  • Expertise across various disciplines, encompassing Civil, SMP, E&I, and Fabrication

What you will bring

  • Relevant trade qualification or Engineering degree
  • 10 years+ construction industry experience in the resources construction sector with a strong understanding of trades and multi-disciplinary scopes
  • 5+ years' experience within an Estimating and Pre-contracts function
  • Strong site/project exposure coupled with knowledge of relevant construction norms and industry rates
  • Demonstrated experience developing & utilise estimating systems, procedures and templates to streamline tender preparation and submission including the ability to accurately calculate costing for tenders, contracts and proposals. Analysing and refining project costs to produce a budget, to then control project cost
  • Development and management of databases, along with expertise in data analytics
  • Experience in the implementation and management of estimating systems, is highly desirable including work and cost breakdown structures
  • Confident and capable user of MS Office Suite (particularly Word & Excel), scheduling software and Power BI
