Overview 
The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) at ECU South West is dedicated to enhancing the University's regional relations through partnerships with industry and the higher education sector. As the Events Officer, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality events and activities that activate the ECU South West – Bunbury Campus and Regional Learning Hubs. Your role will involve engaging students, staff, and community stakeholders to create a dynamic and interactive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating, delivering, and participating in events and activities for ECU South West through the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) (ODVCRF).
  • Preparing detailed event briefs, ensuring high-quality delivery, timely execution, and adherence to budget and university standards.
  • Collaborating with ECU South West Bunbury Campus and Brand and Marketing teams to produce promotional materials (invitations, displays, social media content, posters, etc.).
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders to promote ECU as a preferred higher education provider.
  • Collecting and inputting event data into the event management database (Salesforce) and generating reports as needed.
  • Organising and preparing for meetings, including agendas, event plans, and minutes.
  • Maintaining professional competence in frontline administrative functions, systems, processes, and procedures.

Key Criteria
Reporting to the Strategic Initiatives Manager, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Previous experience in event management or project management.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • A focus on all aspects of customer service to achieve quality outcomes for all parties, including internal and external customers.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders/communities.
  • Ability to investigate and analyse key issues to develop practical solutions.
  • Expertise in setting objectives, managing time and resources, monitoring progress, evaluating results, and taking corrective action using ECU’s Excellence Framework.

Specific Requirements:
  • Tertiary degree or equivalent level of expertise plus subsequent experience OR equivalent gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.  
  • Valid WA Driver’s Licence 
  • Ability and willingness to work out of hours and undertake travel as required.

Benefits & Remuneration
This part-time (0.8 FTE) fixed term till the 31 March 2025 position attracts remuneration of $81,614 to $90,691 (Pro Rata) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
