Garlbagu (which means ‘rise up’ in the Ngarluma & Yinjibarndi languages) is a social enterprise operating out of Roebourne (Ieramugadu) in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Position requirements:
We are seeking an experienced Events Manager to coordinate and deliver the 2022 Cossack Dragon Boat Festival, held at the iconic Historic Cossack Townsite 21st- 23rd October.
You will have:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position with strong references;
- Strong business acumen with the capacity to innovate to improve service delivery and improve profits;
- Experience in or a desire to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and learn about their culture, ensuring an inclusive and empowering workplace for all staff, recognising that this is at the heart of all we do;
- A commitment to working collaboratively, in particular with the Venue Manager of the Cossack Historic Townsite to deliver an excellent guest and visitor experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respectfully and efficiently communicate with staff, management and clients;
- An eye for detail and commitment to ensuring a quality event experience
Delivered well, there is an opportunity to oversee a number of other exciting cultural events throughout the year.
