$28 – $40 per hour / based on Experience and Qualifications.

With over 15 years experience in the Level 1 Electrical Industry, Powercountry plays a key role supporting Developers, Councils and Land Owners throughout the Illawarra and South Coast for their individual requirements for Network Power Solutions. Our work sites range from Wollongong to Ulladulla.
THE ROLE
We are seeking an all-rounder. A sound mature person who has reasonable knowledge in civil/earth works, electrical trenching, NBN Pit and Pipe install and cable laying to join our Nowra based team.
Day to day, our crews operate excavators to dig trenches, install pits and pipes, haul and lay cable/conduit, backfill trenches, drive and load/unload tippers/trucks, and perform general labouring duties.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Current driver's license and Construction White Card
Preferred
- Excavator Experience VOC (3T-8T).
- Drivers MR or HR Licence.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar industry
- Experience working as part of a civil pit, pipe and cable laying crew in either electrical, water, gas and/or comms, etc
- Operators must have experience in min 5t up to 24t excavators and must hold relevant qualifications
- Must be committed to Workplace Health and Safety and company policies
- Experienced in use of plant/excavators around services
- Current or Previous experience working in the electricity supply industry
- Dogging ticket
- Forklift ticket
- Identify, Locate & Protect UG Services certificate
- Current network authorisations would be an advantage
- Read and interpret DBYD – (Dial Before You Dig Plans)
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complying with WHS and Environmental procedures, processes and policies.
- This is an opportunity suited to an experienced trades assistant/ labourer who is looking to take on a new challenge. You will receive on the job training in order to support your transition to becoming a skilled electrical T/A.
- You will be a self-driven and motivated worker, primarily involved in the construction, erection and maintenance of network apparatus.
- Complying and implementing enterprise WHS and environmental procedures and processes.
