About Us:
Established nearly two decades ago, the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce Inc. (NSWICC) was Australia’s first peak representative body for Indigenous business. We are an independent, non-government funded and self-sustained, Indigenous-led organisation, representing 500+ majority-owned, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enterprises. The NSWICC has established a ‘One Stop Shop’ model and suite of services, where Indigenous business owners, government and industry come together to build, develop and grow the Indigenous business sector.
The Opportunity:
As a key member of the executive leadership team, this role will contribute to organisational leadership, strategic development, and continual improvement. The role will have a specific responsibility for oversight of our shared services and outsourced functions, ensuring a consistent alignment of our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key leadership role in strategic and organisational planning.
- Oversee all internal and outsourced shared services functions, including marketing, events, governance and advocacy.
- Oversee key project and program engagements.
- Oversee the evolution of our Wuu-rri vending program.
- Represent the organisation and wider sector at industry events.
- Uphold the NSWICC's vision, mission and values in all interactions.
About You:
A passionate advocate for the development of a prosperous and sustainable Indigenous business sector.
To be considered you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience in a relevant area such as business management or public administration.
- Relevant senior management level experience within Corporate Services, with a substantial knowledge of public relations, management systems and general shared services functions.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively at senior stakeholder levels, including the preparation of strategic briefings, reports, and advice.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management (both OPEX & CAPEX), including ROI modelling and governance.
- Demonstrated experience in operational and risk management, including implementation of governance and control mechanisms, and continuous improvement programs.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and extensive experience within Indigenous settings and stakeholder groups.
