How will I help?
The Executive Manager, Transaction Monitoring Investigations will play an integral role within the Anti-Money Laundering & Sanctions Operations (AMLSO) team to ensure Westpac meets regulatory obligations as well as delivering great outcomes for customers and wider communities.
Key to this role's success is managing performance and implementing capability development strategies for Managers and their teams. The Executive Manager ensures, Team Managers and their teams are following Westpac Group protocol, policies and procedures when completing all tasks, whilst also identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
The role will include management of teams involved in assessing risk and providing recommendations for customers posing higher risks to Westpac including those requiring more comprehensive investigations and analysis.
Key Accountabilities:
- Optimise Governance Manager and Team Manager performance through objective setting, coaching and development to maximise their growth and potential.
- Ensure consistent execution of agreed performance management disciplines that define individual responsibilities and accountabilities.
- Execute a development program within the team to enable individual growth and achievement.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the AML & Sanctions Operations strategy.
- Define and execute a proactive program of work that identifies potential efficiency and cost reduction opportunities.
- Define and execute a balanced framework that considers customers, people and risk implications.
- Demonstrate an operational understanding of business cost drivers within scope of influence and the proactive implementation of mitigating strategies.
- Actively contribute to the identification and implementation of process improvements, which deliver better business and customer outcomes.
- Support the successful implementation of change programs, including input to the strategy as required.
- Provide subject matter expertise as may be required for all initiatives or projects for the relative functions/processes.
- Accountability for the accuracy and effectiveness of the process management documentation for all functional tasks.
- Responsible for the assessment and approval of all proposed business changes.
- Manage the execution and implementation of business opportunities that deliver operational and commercial value for both on-shore and off-shore teams.

What do I need?
- Extensive knowledge across Anti Money Laundering / Counter Terrorism Finance & Sanctions Operations.
- Extensive experience in managing teams performing investigations and providing risk recommendations.
- Comprehensive understanding of overall business processes, support systems and tools – including AOM practices.
- Strong understanding of financials and budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to utilise business metrics to drive efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience in relationship management for internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge and application of compliance and legislative requirements.
- Understanding and applying the principles of risk management.
