Executive Officer for Community Pest Control

The NBG is a community based Incorporated Association and is assisting landholders to deliver coordinated (declared) pest management control programs across the Shires of Northampton, Chapman Valley and City of Greater Geraldton as a Recognised Biosecurity Group. 

As our Executive Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations including operational activities, communications, administrative support and financial management of our programs. You will be working with key stakeholders across our region to deliver on-ground pest management activities.

This is a variable part-time contract role, with preference given to candidates with a good understanding of vertebrate pest management issues in the Midwest Region, it’s primary stakeholders and the agriculture industry. Working hours within the role will vary depending on operational requirements of the group, with more time required during key times of the year. 

Priority will be given to candidates who have: 

• A keen interest in (declared) Pest Control in WA’s Midwest Region; 
• A minimum of two years’ experience in a leadership role; 
• Have a qualification in Environmental Science, Ecology, Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, or a related field OR can demonstrate experience in a similar role; 
• Who have the ability to work independently under directions of our NBG Board;
• Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, including budget development and management; 
• Ability to balance multiple activities, including prioritising to maintain group operations; 
• Experience in community engagement in a rural setting and developing strong partnerships with key-stakeholders; 
• Show ability to interpret, understand and comply with all relevant legislations and codes of practice;
• Provide high quality administrative and executive assistance in various areas; 
• Good understanding of governance in a not-for-profit environment; 
• A willingness to travel our region and occasionally Perth; 
• Experience with finance management software and Microsoft based programs. 
• Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence 
• A current National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than 6 months)
