The Executive Secretary shall manage all aspects of the Rugby League Townsville and District (RLTD) senior and junior competitions and carry out duties as described by the Chairperson RLTD and Board.
The Executive Secretary shall be the conduit between the RLTD and grassroots (the Clubs) but responsible to look after the interests of the RLTD, in good faith.
POSITION RESOLUTION
The purpose of this role is to provide high level support and governance to the board, across all areas of business, with emphasis on the day-to-day operational activities of the league, moreover, all administrative requirements and canteen operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage My Sideline.
Engage and collaborate with RLTD Board, its committees, QRL representatives and all stakeholders, to help develop high level strategies, come up with evidence-based solutions to difficult situations and make all necessary improvements that provide satisfactory responses and outcomes.
Promote decisions in line with the RLTD Strategic Pillars, Strategic Plan and Operational Plan.
Assist the RLTD in achieving its Operational Plan and make enhancements.
Manage employees of the RLTD.
Address all correspondence relating to the league and as required by the Chairperson and RLTD Board and its Committees.
Manage and oversee all Canteen operations.
RLTD social media platforms (expand our platforms)
Sponsorship arrangements.
Tribunal/Match Review/Chairpersons correspondence as required.
RLTD Doc Ward Medal and Seniors Presentation Night; and
Perform tasks as required by the Chairperson RLTD in consultation.
POSSESS BEHAVIOURAL & MOTIVATIONAL SKILLS
Understanding of ‘One League’, Respect, Belief, Resourceful, Confidence in assisting both Junior and Senior League matters, Passionate about rugby League, Attention to detail, Commitment, Professionalism, Consistency, Confidentiality, Energetic, Flexible/adaptable, Personal Integrity, Punctual and dynamic.
DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
High level written and oral communication and dispute resolution skills. High level of interpersonal relationship skills. Competency in Windows including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and other office software. Competency in use of contemporary social media platforms.
Knowledge of Rugby league and previous experience working with volunteers highly regarded. Must be able to demonstrate competent computer skills and demonstrated ability to research.
