About the Role

Activate has an opportunity for an Exercise Physiologist (EP) to join our diverse and welcoming team in full-time capacity.

We want our staff to have balance, the opportunity to learn, and to love what they do.

As part of our allied health team, you will be working a highly diverse caseload involving all ages and abilities (including NDIS), ensuring optimal care and outcomes by providing a comprehensive range of EP services based on participant goals. 

The role includes:

• Forming strong therapeutic relationships with great people in our community in need.
• Designing and implementing exercise programs for a diverse range of presentations and compensable schemes to support all those in need in our community (NDIS, Medicare, Workcover, TAC)
• Upholding the highest professional standards and ensuring that every recommendation and program is rooted in science and genuine care. We take pride in our client’s trust, and we honour that trust by always acting with honesty and integrity.
• Communicating and collaborating with other members of the team and participating in interdisciplinary clinical and planning activities to enhance the overall service provided to participants.

About you:

• Very passionate about growing the field of Exercise Physiology
• Enjoy teaching the next generation of Exercise Physiologists - we have a strong student program and believe in educating the next up and coming EP’s. 
• Enjoy working as part of a team - we are a multidisciplinary team and believe that the best learning environment is one where you can watch others at work. You will be working alongside other EPs and speech pathologists, and endocrinologists which allows us all to observe different approaches and learn as we work.
• You are passionate about helping others – There is no better way to utilise our skills as EPs and Speech Pathologists, than to improve the quality of life of those in need around us. Each year we host our Sled Challenge Fundraiser for an organization in our community who is helping those in need. 
• You connect with our why – We are advancing the quality of life of our community by building a world where physical, mental, and social wellness is accessible, enjoyable and life-changing. Our community is everything to us. Activate is a tightknit family respectful and inclusive to all.

We will provide:

• Mentoring: Face to face weekly mentoring by EPs with a combined 20+ years' experience and who are actively observing your work.
• Thorough onboarding process: - Structured onboarding program with training. Gradual build-up of caseload, to give you plenty of time to adapt, learn from others in the team and come up with ideas of your own.
• Professional development: We value growth, continual improvement, development of critical thinking and learning. That's why each year we work out with you where you want to develop and we contribute the cost towards that.
• Collaboration: We believe that the best learning environment is one where you can watch others at work. You will be working alongside 8 other EPs, which allows us all to observe different approaches and learn as we work.
• Passion in achieving our mission: Our mission is to improve the quality of life of our community. We believe that passion is the cornerstone to a fulfilling workplace. As such, every staff member has a passion project. This is a project worked on weekly and implemented yearly. What are you passionate about? Let's find out and build something around it for the community.
• Community: There is no better way to utilise our skills as EPs than to improve the quality of life of those around us. Each year we pick a charitable cause to fundraise for and network with. Our work with Belmore School in 2022 is a proud example of ours.
• Next generation: We have a strong student program servicing approximately 6 students per week, every week for the year. We believe in educating the next up and coming EPs, and we want all of our staff to contribute to that.
• Multidisciplinary Team: In January, we welcomed a senior speech pathologist to the Activate team, who helps us communicate better with our clients. We will also be adding an Endo/ Geriatrician, and are continuing to look at broadening our offering, so that we can work collaboratively to be able to provide the best support for our clients.
• Exposure: At Activate, all of our EP’s have a mixed caseload, which we love (Musc, cardiac, neuro, NDIS, Medicare and more!) You will experience a mix of musc, cardiac, neuro, Medicare and NDIS clients, and more! We like the fact that we are all-rounders, and can support anyone in our community who walks through our doors, allowing you to put your skills to use!
• 1/2 day off for birthday
• Team meetings 
• Paid professional membership to ESSA annually 
   
• Require:
  • ESSA EP accreditation 
  • Medicare provider number
  • Registration with Worksafe Victoria
  • Working with children check (WWCC)
  • Valid police check
  • Current first aid + CPR
  • Professional indemnity + public liability insurance
