AddressMobile Allied Health Assistant / Exercise Trainer
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Mobile Allied Health Assistant / Exercise Trainer to work directly with ageing clients in their homes. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead exercise programs tailored to the unique needs and abilities of individuals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the aging process, physical limitations commonly faced by seniors, and the ability to motivate and encourage clients to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.

Responsibilities:
- Travel to clients’ homes or community centers to conduct one-on-one or group exercise sessions across Canberra and surrounding areas.
- Instruct and demonstrate proper exercise techniques, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
- Motivate and support elderly clients to adhere to their exercise regimens, providing positive reinforcement and encouragement.
- Modify exercise plans as necessary to accommodate changes in clients’ health status or abilities.
- Maintain detailed records of client progress, including exercise plans, achievements, and any health concerns observed using our cloud based clinical practice system.
- Educate clients on the importance of physical activity, healthy lifestyle habits, and proper nutrition for overall well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as physiotherapists and exercise physiologists ensure a comprehensive approach to client care.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in senior fitness, attending relevant workshops or conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Cert IV in Fitness or Allied Health Assistant
- Proven experience or willingness to work with elderly individuals, understanding their unique physical needs and limitations.
- Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, mobility limitations, and health conditions commonly found in the elderly population.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with older adults.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for improving the lives of elderly clients through fitness and wellness.
- Ability to adapt exercise routines to accommodate various physical abilities and health conditions.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel to clients’ locations.
Compliance Requirements:
- Valid Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
- Current National Police Check.
- Up-to-date vaccinations for flu and COVID-19.
- Active Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Additional information: We have part-time and full-time positions available, depending on client load and scheduling flexibility. The schedule may include mornings, afternoons, or evenings to accommodate clients’ availability. We do offer casual positions to ensure you enjoy working within this mobile environment.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Salary Package: $50,000 - $70,000 per year.
