Experianced Cook Required in Busy Indian Restaurant in Werribee

Sri Dwaraka Werribee is looking for an experienced Cook specializing in Indian cuisine to work full-time in our Indian restaurant.

Duties:

• Minimum 2 to 3 years full-time Australian experience (or equivalent) working in a busy Indian kitchen cooking traditional Indian cuisine
• Experience in planning menus, developing recipes, preparing, cooking, and maintaining food quality
• Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Instruct cooks and other kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Select and train kitchen staff
• Ability to maintain a clean kitchen and use kitchen appliances and equipment safely.
• May need to work varied shifts as well on weekends.
• Work closely with the Kitchen Team to achieve goals and guest satisfaction
• Cooking a wide range of Indian dishes including dosas, biryani rice, noodles, starters, fried rice, and curries
• Preparation and cooking of restaurant menu
• Wash, peel, cut, and vegetables to prepare them for consumption
• Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and pass to Front of house staff for service

Experience Required:

Must have a minimum of three years experience.
