Duties:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years full-time Australian experience (or equivalent) working in a busy Indian kitchen cooking traditional Indian cuisine
- Experience in planning menus, developing recipes, preparing, cooking, and maintaining food quality
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Instruct cooks and other kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Select and train kitchen staff
- Ability to maintain a clean kitchen and use kitchen appliances and equipment safely.
- May need to work varied shifts as well on weekends.
- Work closely with the Kitchen Team to achieve goals and guest satisfaction
- Cooking a wide range of Indian dishes including dosas, biryani rice, noodles, starters, fried rice, and curries
- Preparation and cooking of restaurant menu
- Wash, peel, cut, and vegetables to prepare them for consumption
- Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and pass to Front of house staff for service
Experience Required:
Must have a minimum of three years experience.
