Experienced Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

Fowlers Asphalting are currently seeking a Junior Accountant / Experienced Bookkeeper to join our team to fill a permanent full-time position, with immediate start available.

Role

• Responsibility for the account payable / receivable functions including invoicing, cash allocations, and collections.
• Preparation of Financial forecasting.
• Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly financial and management reporting, including but not limited to budgets, cashflows, profit and loss, forecasts, accounts payable, debtors and job costing.
• Make sure that the appropriate documentation and approvals are in place for the supplier invoices by working closely with all departments.
• Prepare and execute weekly or monthly payment runs.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions and maintain accurate aging reports.
• Manage Asset reports.
• Preparation of monthly accruals and journal entries.
• Analysis of the monthly P&L to ensure accuracy of month end reporting.
• Invoicing and processing of all claims and sales. 
• Daily entry of data/dockets.
• Investigating and resolving customer queries.
• Managing and collating trial balances. 
• Stay updated with accounting regulations and company policies.

About You

To be successful in this position you will require the following skills/experience.

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance/Business Administration/Accounting or Equivalent are desirable but not essential with right experience.
• Experience in a similar role working in a construction site-based environment desirable.
• A proven ability to quickly identify problems and remedial action.
• Proficient in MS Suite and online accounting programs.
• Pleasant and professional phone manner.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• The ability to prioritise tasks and display initiative.
