Our team is expanding, Devonfield Enterprises Inc are seeking a motivated and suitably Experienced Cook to join our organisation on a casual basis within our Devonport team.
Devonfield has been providing support and services that respond to the individual needs of people with a disability in Northwest and Northern Tasmania since 1959. Devonfield has a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for its participant group and provides opportunities for community integration for people with disabilities to maximise their independence. Devonfield is a accredited provider under the NDIS.
Devonfield is committed to working to the 6 National Disability Service Standards and model our organisation on the Indicators of Practice contained within the Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals to the highest standards for our various hospitality contracts, ensuring that each dish meets our quality benchmarks.
- Work closely with our kitchen team to develop new recipes and menus that align with Devonfield's vision and client expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory and kitchen supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked for all events.
- Collaborate with the management team to understand client needs and deliver tailored catering solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- A team player with outstanding communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by our hospitality contracts.
Other requirements of the position:
- Possess and maintain a current driver’s license.
- Possess and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People Card (NDIS endorsed)
- Possess and maintain a current industry First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).
- Possess and maintain a current industry Provide CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
