Mantra Mackay is located on the relaxing waterfront setting of the picturesque Mackay Marina, home to Latitude 21 Bar & Restaurant providing delicious Australian cuisine to hotel guests and locals. Open for a la carte dinner Monday – Sunday and breakfast daily.
We are now seeking a casual experienced Cook or Commis Chef to join our kitchen team.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience working in a similar position highly desirable.
- Enjoy working with and preparing quality food
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery desirable not essential.
- Ability to work efficiently with a close eye for detail.
- Previous experience in an a la carte and events environment
- Ability to handle the pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Experience working solo and within a team environment.
- Good written and oral communication skills with a friendly & approachable demeanour
- Ideally available across 7 days
Tasks will include:
- Prepare, store, and Maintain food products safely.
- Assist in food preparation, service and catering for the various food outlets within the hotel such as Breakfast, Dinner, Bar, Events, and functions.
- Maintain a clean & safe working environment.
- Communicate efficiently and clearly with all team members in a harmonious way.
- Ensure that all standard recipes are followed in all outlets.
- Monitor food quality and control
- Ensure all Food Safety and Hygiene Standards are adhered to at all times.
- Adhere to the Hotels Policies and Procedures.
