About the Role
Mapstone Geotechnical Services is one of Queensland’s leading contract Geotechnical and Environmental drilling companies and we are currently seeking an experienced Driller to join our team based out of Brisbane, Queensland.
Permanent position operating one of our Geotech rigs.
This is not a fly in fly out position - you'll be based out of Brendale. The work is generally in Southeast Queensland with some away work.
MGS has a strong commitment to health and safety and expects the same from all employees.
Mapstone Geotechnical Services is a professional company celebrating more than 24 years in the industry. The salary package is above average with opportunities to undertake a variety of drilling methods on various machines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set-up and operate drilling rigs and secondary equipment;
- Pulling augers, rods and loading and unloading augers out of the feeder mechanism of the drill rig;
- Plan for, maintain and source all drilling related equipment to undertake the scope of investigative drilling required;
- Ensure that site specific inductions, SWMS or any other safety documentation is met;
- Ensure the project runs on time;
- Maintain high levels of productivity;
- Ensure all Quality, OHSE and Management Manuals, Policies and Procedures are followed.
About You:
- A HR driving licence and construction white card are essential
- Ability to pass a workplace medical including drug/alcohol screen.
- Certificate III in Drilling Operations is desirable but not compulsory. Future Training can be provided.
- Previous experience in Geotechnical Drilling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
