AddressA family-owned farming business at Burren Junction in North-western NSW has a position available for a fulltime Experienced Farm Machinery Operator / Foreman. The farm produces irrigated cotton, and dry land and irrigated winter cereals.
Reporting to the owner, your duties include operating modern GPS guided John Deere cropping machinery to prepare paddocks, seed, fertilise, spray and harvest crops, siphon irrigation and general farm maintenance.
The position is best suited to an efficient broad acre Machinery Operator with a professional, flexible approach to their work and a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position who routinely completes tasks in a timely manner.
Broad acre John Deere tractor and RTK GPS experience is essential, with irrigation and general maintenance skills preferred. You will need a manual driver’s licence and your own vehicle, and Ag related qualifications such as an MC Licence, Chemcert or First Aid Certificate are preferred but not essential.
The farm is committed to continuously training and developing their workers and the Experienced Farm Machinery Operator may identify training relevant to their role to include in their personal professional development plan.
You can negotiate an hourly flat rate matching your experience and the position comes with fenced, air-conditioned 3x1 accommodation including electricity with school bus to local primary and high schools, and outside pets by negotiation. Essential groceries are available in Burren Junction and your weekly shopping and healthcare is just 30 minutes up the road in Wee Waa.
