Experienced Flights Consultant

We are looking for both a competent and experienced Flights Consultant to be part of our Aviation team. The team executes tasks that support the broader Imagine Holidays business by managing all flight related capabilities (flight bookings, schedule changes, flight reconciliations, changes, ticketing) in a well organised and timely manner with a high degree of accuracy. You will work on a variety of aviation related tasks supporting Concierge, Product, Sales and Customer Support.

Typical activities

• Support all areas of Australia and New Zealand businesses with aviation queries by phone, email & face to face in a polite and friendly manner
• Issue all manner of airline tickets accurately and on time via multiple ticket consolidators 
• Ability to process amendments (ADCOL) as required of existing flight bookings and demonstrate ability to accurately answer questions including but not limited to: pricing, routing, fare restrictions and aviation product related queries
• Quote, track and monitor airline refunds. Sourcing waivers to protect the business as required. Monitor & take ownership of financial exceptions & finding amicable solutions
• Daily clearance and queue management, including but not limited to automated airline responses, airline schedule changes and ticketing time limit management for all bookings ensuring open communication surrounding concerns to the Aviation Manager
• Ensuring accurate input and recording of all transactions into the central reservation system ensuring adherence to both Imagine Cruising & IATA financial procedures
• Processing name changes, name corrections, remedying any booking errors amongst other reasonable ad-hoc tasks. Identifying risks to the business & reporting to Aviation Manager as required
• Maintaining exceptional channels of communication with internal departments both locally & abroad and communicating closely with local Aviation Manager
• Occasional meetings with airline representatives and industry stakeholders
• Be part of on-call roster with other members of Aviation team, as per on-call procedure document

Skill set required:

Essential

• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent working knowledge of fare construction, airline fare rules interpretation as well as airline ticket issuing processes including GDS experience. 
• Highly organized with ability to manage workload and adapt to changing priorities
• Must be reliable and flexible in approach to work
• Basic skills on Microsoft office applications
• Able to work extended hours on occasions when required

Desirable 

• GDS trained (preferable) on either Galileo, Amadeus, Sabre
• Experience of working in the travel industry
