At Farm Profits we pride ourselves on supplying award winning milk for consumers on the Holiday coast, we do this by leading best practice management on our dairy farm (www.farmprofits.com.au).

The dairy farm is located near Taree in NSW, we milk 700 cows through a well set up 60 bail rotary, automatic cup removers, heatime - cow heat detection, teatspray and drafting.
This progressive dairy farm achieves:
1. Award winning milk quality all year to Norco Cooperative (BMCC averages around 70 for the year, in top 100 farms in Australia for BMCC for 5 years),
2. high rates of pasture utilisation, 11 t/ha for dryland farm
3. high in-calf rates and,
4. low stock mortality.

- At least 5 years experience working on dairy farms
- track record heat detection to maximise milking cows in calf is desirable
- Strict adherence and implementation of all Work Health and Safety rules and regulations (Dairy safety manual & Tractor safety manual).
- To hygienically put on all clusters on cows to minimize mastitis and ensure smooth and adequate supply of cows entering the parlour
- Demonstrated skills in animal disease identification and prevention to ensure healthy animals
- To carry the proper care, feeding, and solid understanding of low-stress livestock handling.
- Ensure all new born calves are looked after appropriately.
- Conduct feeding operations as required.
- Feed stock using different methods, eg feeding silage using tractors and implements.
- Monitor dairy requirements including cleaning agents, dairy requisites, in-dairy feed grains and additives and advise management appropriately.
- Repair and maintenance of permanent fences.
- strong observational skills and the ability to adapt to change - attention to detail
- accountability and a willingness to lead by example
- To ensure all relevant records up to date, readable and clean.
- To carry out general farm work including break fencing, feeding hay, silage and crop supplements.
Pay
Senior Dairy operator needs at least 5 years experience
$80,000 plus super salary is available, may suit couple, must have 5 or more years of milking experience
This is a permanent long-term dairy farm position and would suit someone looking for stability and the opportunity to develop their skills in the dairy industry. To be eligible, applicants must hold a current drivers license.
Approximately 50 hours a week is required
Flexible 10 day Fortnight with every second weekend off

The dairy farm job is on an Island on major river, has good fishing, close to beaches (10 min), schools (10 min) and towns (15 min)(population 20,000)
It is 3.5 hours North of centre of Sydney and 2 hours North of Newcastle
