Dairy Farm Hand Position ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Forbes Partnership Dairy Farm of Barrington, NSW are looking to add a new member to add to their amazing well established farm team.
We currently milk 750 cows in a predominantly pasture based system. We are passionate about our cows, with animal performance and genetics having a strong focus across the business.
Our farm is located on the beautiful Barrington River which is a fantastic irrigation resource allowing us to grow quality pastures and crops all year round. We are located 10 minutes from the well serviced town of Gloucester.
We are looking for an all-rounder who has a minimum of 12 months dairy experience and is looking for their next opportunity. You should be competent in basic Dairy Farm procedures including milking and mastitis monitoring & management, animal health monitoring, calving & young stock management, tractor operation and farm maintenance.
Main Tasks:
- Operate milking plant and equipment.
- Identify and report equipment not operating normally.
- Work co-operatively as part of a team.
- Read and record instrument information, i.e. Milk vat temperatures and cow numbers.
- Understands the principles of safe working.
- Undertake multiple functions, produce a quality outcome e.g. farm machinery.
- Maintain machinery, undertake adjustments and size changes.
- Solve problems and make decisions within given guidelines.
- Know general scientific terminology and assist with processes such as machine repair, artificial insemination, fertiliser mix design etc.
- Operate standard measuring equipment.
- Operate computerised systems using menu options.
- Contribute to the team in a specific role, providing input and assisting other team members.
- Work at times without supervision
To be successful in this position you should be an honest, reliable team player, with a strong work ethic who enjoys the physical aspects of Dairy Farming. You should be able to follow directions and procedures, work independently & emulate safe work principles.
We have a strong record of providing access to training & development through TAFE, Tocal College & industry activities. We have many long serving team members and look forward to welcoming a new person to the team.
We offer a full-time position, with overtime available. Rosters are done fortnightly, with a 9-10 day fortnight worked, including every second weekend off. We offer individual flexibility around days & hours worked.
๐ฐThe position will be remunerated at a Farm & Livestock Level 3-5 level depending on experience. Potential casual employment for a partner also available

Salary: $63500+ per year
