Experienced Social Researcher – Qualitative (Contract role to end August 2024)

Position

Contract role toAugust 2024. Reporting to the owner and managing director, your key responsibility is to lead the successful delivery of a large qualitative research project. 

Working with two other senior researchers and admin support, this role requires excellent project and client management capabilities, outstanding qualitative research skills and very strong analysis and report writing abilities. 

Where time allows you will also participate in other qualitative research projects running across the business.

This role is based in Sydney and requires some days in the office, and a small amount of regional and/or interstate travel.

Person

The successful applicant:

• Degree qualified. Ideally a Qualified Practicing Researcher with social research experience.
• At least 8 years’ experience working as a qualitative reseacher preferably in an agency setting 
• Excellent project management skills. 
• Highly experienced facilitating groups, IDIs, community consultations, based on well-planned discussion/ recruitment guides.
• Outstanding analytical skills. Able to articulate key insights and combine strategy with practical recommendations.
• Able to work independently. 
• Experienced managing small teams and external suppliers within an agency setting
• Exceptional planning and writing skills, particularly presentations and reports. 
• Tech savvy and 100% comfortable in all relevant platforms
• Outstanding communicator. 
• Confident, collaborative, capable and a team player.
• Energetic, friendly with a can-do attitude. Highly organised

You will be quick to pick up new things and quick to get things done, with a calm confidence. You will have lots of initiative and ‘just get going’ to ensure the job gets done quickly and capably.
