We have immediate requirements for Experienced Tree Workers/Arborist Assistants in a casual capacity (fulltime hours) with a view to permanency.
This position requires you to work within a highly experienced Arboriculture team, undertaking programmed maintenance and tree management based at their Port Melbourne Depot.
Core responsibilities (role dependant)
- Perform tree maintenance/removal using both hand tools and chainsaws.
- Pruning trees from both the ground and aerially using an (EWP).
- MR Truck driving
- Tree Watering
- Groundwork maintenance-Stump grinding, weed management, mulching etc
- Chipper Operation
- Chainsaw maintenance and pre-operational checks of all equipment
Skills and experience
- Arboriculture experience highly desirable but not essential as full training can be provided
- MR/HR licence, highly desirable
- Chainsaw licence- highly regarded
- A desire to work in the outdoors
- Fit, healthy and work well within a team
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Strong commitment to and working knowledge of safe work practices
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Any certificates in Horticulture/Arboriculture desirable but not essential
