As a UX Researcher at Capsule Labs, you'll be key to shaping how our event industry products feel and work. You'll dive into both qualitative and quantitative research to really understand what our users need, how they behave, and what drives them. Your insights will steer our design and development, making sure our products are easy to use and meet our users' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Planning and Design:

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to understand research needs and objectives.
  • Design and develop comprehensive research plans that encompass both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Qualitative Research:

  • Conduct user interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic studies to gather in-depth insights into user behaviours and experiences.
  • Perform contextual inquiries and usability testing to identify pain points and areas for improvement.
  • Analyse qualitative data to uncover themes, patterns, and user needs.

Quantitative Research:

  • Design and administer surveys to collect large-scale user data on product usage, preferences, and satisfaction.
  • Conduct A/B testing to evaluate the effectiveness of different design variations.
  • Analyse user interaction data from various sources (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude) to identify trends and usage patterns.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilise statistical methods to analyse quantitative data and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Synthesise research findings into clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Create visualisations and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders effectively.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure research findings are integrated into the product development process.
  • Present research insights and recommendations to stakeholders, including designers, developers, and product managers.
  • Advocate for the user and ensure that user-centred design principles are upheld throughout the product lifecycle.

What You'll Need:

Essential:

  • Experience: 1 - 3 years experience as a UX researcher in software development.
  • Qualitative Research: Proficient in a variety of qualitative user research methods to uncover actionable insights.
  • Usability Testing: Experienced in managing the entire usability testing process, including participant recruitment, session facilitation, analysis, documentation, and communication of insights.
  • Quantitative Research: Familiarity with quantitative user research methods, understanding when and how to apply them effectively.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to recognise and challenge assumptions, including your own, and seek ways to invalidate them.
  • Communication Skills: An open, confident, and thoughtful communicator and collaborator, capable of presenting clear findings that are easily understood and utilised by colleagues.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken English.

Desirable:

  • Team Experience: Experience working within a multi-disciplinary digital product team.
  • User-Centred Design: Some experience and understanding of user-centred design and delivery practices.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with collaborative design, prototyping, and brainstorming tools (e.g., Figma, Dovetail, Amplitude).
  • Survey Tools: Familiarity with survey management and design tools.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience, knowledge, or interest in the events sector.
