Opportunities available for Experienced and Senior Protection Engineers. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of Protection System design work across a broad range of projects including connections of generators (renewables and conventional), battery energy storage systems, major loads as well as replacement of existing infrastructure to ensure the network remains reliable.
You will also be responsible for:
- Preparing preliminary or detailed design, options analysis/risk assessments, scope and specifications of Protection Systems
- Performing engineering design reviews, compliance and validation including commissioning witnessing of Protection Systems
- Supporting the development and maintenance of Protection System standards including equipment evaluation
- Planning and prioritising your workload, working across multiple projects simultaneously
- Supporting the co-ordination of engineering project deliverables with stakeholders
As an experienced engineer you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline (essential) with a minimum of 5 years experience in Protection related roles
- Deep understanding of HV power systems, protection schemes, and secondary systems circuitry
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Problem-solving prowess and a knack for finding practical solutions
- Team player with a flexible and collaborative attitude
- Electrical industry background is an advantage
- Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia
