The Department
The Audio and Language Content team is seeking Expressions of Interest to join us in the Arabic language program. Audio and Language Content produces the most linguistically diverse public broadcasting in the world, providing Australian-focused news and information in 63 languages across live radio and digital platforms.
Working with SBS Australia as a Producer
With a sound understanding of the Arabic-speaking community in Australia and its cultural sensitivities, as a producer, you will contribute to fostering audience engagement on-air and online. Prior experience in journalism or broadcasting will be highly regarded.
Our casual positions are based in Sydney and Melbourne.
About you
- The ability to research, write, produce, translate and present audio content (including news, current affairs and community stories) on radio and/or online platforms.
- Proficiency in speaking and typing in Arabic as well as English. Also, you will be comfortable participating in a language assessment task as part of our interview process.
- Demonstrated professional experience using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram would be an advantage.

Our Producers will be required to undertake shift work which includes presenting on-air programs early in the morning and could include weekends. Only residents based in Australia with working rights are eligible to submit an expression of Interest.
