Expression of Interest: Kuiper Australia is seeking applications from experienced offshore HSE Officers for our exciting oil and gas construction projects.    

Kuiper Group is a global provider of diverse, fully integrated human resources and recruitment solutions to the energy industry, with an exemplary track record in serving some of the world’s biggest projects and companies.  Kuiper Australia is providing crew for some of the largest offshore construction projects in Australia and is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced HSE Officers to join our team.

The HSE Officer role is demanding, challenging, and rewarding. It is a FIFO position, living onboard a construction vessel, and the roster is based on 21 days on, 21 days off. Our industry works 24/7, and rosters will involve both day and night shifts. 

Your responsibilities will depend upon the specific requirements of our client, their project and vessel, but will include:

  • Coordinate and maintain Vessel/Site safety management systems.
  • Conduct HSE investigations of workplaces.
  • Coordinate investigations and prepare reports.
  • Assist the workplace and workforce with identifying hazards, assessing the risks, and implementing controls.
  • Provide assistance and advice with the Emergency Management Systems.
  • Attend and provide safety support at Pre-shift and Toolbox meetings.
  • Use operational radios and communication systems.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role in the offshore environment
  • Previous experience in a site-based medical role, such as Medic or Paramedic, would be advantageous 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent personal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Current T/BOSIET
  • Cert IV in OH& S (or similar)
  • Valid Passport
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent) would be well considered  
  • Ability to pass an offshore medical and Drug & Alcohol screen
