Extended Care Assistants Part Time Positions

We have multiple Part Time roles and are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated Extended Care Assistants with a passion for working with the elderly to join our teams at Hawthorn Village in Blackmans Bay and Snug Village in Snug, Tasmania.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Treating residents and clients with dignity and respect and supporting them to maintain their identity;
- Supporting residents and clients with respect to their independence and making informed choices about their care, services and living the life they choose;
- Contributing to resident care that is safe and effective and meets their needs goals and preferences to optimise their health, well-being, independence and quality of life;
- Administering medication under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintaining annual competencies ( For Medication Competent ECA's);
- Ensuring resident care, including activities of daily living (ADL’s) and lifestyle activities, is delivered competently and is reflective of each residents care plan.
- An ability to effectively deliver appropriate levels of care in relation to all aspects of ADL’s, including:
- Personal Care – Toileting & continence, showering, grooming, dressing, oral care and nail care;
- Nutrition and hydration
- Mobility
- Demonstrating safe and appropriate manual handing practices and techniques;
- Practicing appropriate and required infection control and follows universal precautions;
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards;
- Proven ability to work as part of a cohesive team;
- Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to deal with change;
- A high level of organisational and prioritisation skills and an ability to multi-task;
- A commitment to quality continuous improvement;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- A commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD):
Essential requirements of the position are:
- Certificate IV in Ageing or Individual Support qualification or a Certificate III Ageing or Individual Support and an Assist Clients with Medication qualification;
- An approved NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or a willingness to undertake one;
- The provision of an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register confirming that the applicant has received a minimum of two doses and Booster of the COVID-19 Vaccination;
- Valid Australian Work Entitlements.
