This role would be based in our Moorlands Workshop Ingleburn Sydney.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Oversee workshop Fabrication staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Liaise with Project Managers regarding job scopes.
- Supervise fabrication trades, employees, contractors and suppliers to ensure assigned work confirms to quality, time and productivity.
- Review, as required, the product being manufactured against engineering specifications.
- Review, as required, progress of jobs against estimated labour and material requirements.
- Coordinate, plan and execute workflow activities to make the best use of staff, equipment and other resources.
- Liaise with inspection and N.D.T. personnel where applicable, to organize required inspections and tests.
- Ensure the workshop housekeeping and operating practices are of a high standard and tools and equipment are well-maintained.
- Maintain a high performing team and take responsibility for supporting, advising and mentoring the team.
- Train employees on new procedures or processes as required.
- Comply with QA/QC procedures and maintain production documents.
- Ensure that company and statutory safe working requirements are met at all times.
About You;
To be considered for this opportunity, the right person will have:
- Structural Steel Fabrication Experience (essential)
- Trade certificate – Fabrication Heavy (Boilermaker)
- Rights to work in Australia.
- Time management skills and high attention to detail.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Structural Steel Workshop Checker or Similar role.
- Leadership capability in maintaining company disciplines and making executive decisions.
- A results-driven collaborator with a positive and initiative-taking attitude
- Excellent communication, organizational, team management and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read drawings, reports, engineering documents and specifications.
- Administrative capability to manage quality, OHS&E, and company documentation.
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility for the results of the team.
- A focus on exceeding customer expectations.
- Have a can-do attitude, are positive, reliable & punctual.
- The flexibility to work a combination of days / nights / weekends and out-of-hours work.
