The Fabrication Tradesperson is responsible for (but not limited to) structural maintenance/repair of the ferries, ferry crossings and Dockyard with minor responsibility in mechanical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic maintenance.
The tradesperson will be required to be available on a roster basis to undertake after-hours ferry repairs and undertake an after-hours call-out roster coordinator role.
Responsibilities:
- Undertaking fabrication and minor mechanical, hydraulic and electrical aspects of Metal Trade-related functions
- Overseeing, completing and maintaining records and preparing reports
- Undertaking modifications/repairs to ferry structural components and ferry infrastructure.
- Ability to fabricate noncomplex and complex steel/aluminum structures and components.
- Other technical abilities befitting an M7 mechanical trade.
- Available for an on-call roster arrangement to perform after-hours call outs for ferry repair -some out of hours and weekend work may be required;
- Available for some intra / interstate travel may be required including overnight absences
- Other responsibilities as per job description
- Current Driver's License is essential
- Class HR License (or willing to obtain)
- An AQF Level 4 National Certificate or equivalent
- White Card (Construction Industry Card)
- Recreational Boat License
