Reporting to the Production Engineer your role will be hands on, leading by example with a safety first attitude, you will inspire your team of trades and trades assistants to deliver the highest standards the best quality products to our customers, on time and safely.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Fabricator - Welder to join our team as a Team Leader in Steel Fabrication. In this role, you will lead a team of dedicated professionals in the fabrication of steel trays for light trucks. Your expertise in metalworking and leadership capabilities will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and timely delivery of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead our team of steel tray builders in the fabrication of high-quality trays for light trucks and Ute's.
- Train and mentor team members in steel fabrication techniques, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and customer demands.
- Ensure safety compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in steel fabrication.
- Oversee the maintenance of equipment and tools, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Conduct regular inspections of finished products to maintain quality control standards.
- Co-Ordinate with Production Engineer to implement measures to improve efficiency and productivity in the steel fabrication department.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in steel fabrication, with a focus on building trays for Light trucks and Utes.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
- Extensive knowledge of metalworking techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
