Description
- Perform carpentry task and repairs including, liaising with suppliers regarding supplies and repairs, maintaining and ordering supplies to ensure minimum disruptions to patient care, in accordance with relevant standards and legislative requirements. Installation and maintenance of lock systems including keys.
- Report on identified issues, rectification and planned preventative works to deliver and maintain services within the delegated area of responsibility. Participate in continuous improvement process of eliminating the cause of poorly maintained or unsafe equipment/structures so that these do not result in disruptions of the delivery of essential services.
- Perform inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance tasks for the upkeep of the hospital according to carpentry training, skills and competence. This also includes he performance of incidental tasks and assisting other staff where and when necessary to complete the whole job.
- Ensure timely completion of relevant work orders within skill level and subject to available resources to minimise disruption wherever possible.
Profile
- Trade qualifications in carpentry or joinery and demonstrated experience in the field of carpentry maintenance/
renovation in a residential or commercial environment.
- Knowledge, understanding and compliance with Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, Work Health and Safety and
other legislative requirements for this role.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads accurately, meet deadlines and competently manage
the demands of a busy complex work environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures for building fabric, fitting and fixtures, including
analytical skills in fault finding and problem solving, including the ability to interpret building and services plans.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills (written and verbal) and sound computer skills, and the ability to build
effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- A valid unrestricted drivers licence for NSW/Australia, and willingness to travel to other locations as required.
