Position Summary: Are you a dynamic leader with a knack for mechanical fitting and fabrication? We are seeking a passionate Factory Supervisor who will oversee daily operations, manage quality assurance, and lead a skilled team, driving our manufacturing facility to new heights of efficiency and excellence.
Company Overview: We are an international leader in the OEM sector, specialising in the supply and refurbishment of vibratory and screening equipment primarily for the mining and minerals processing industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritise safety! Collaborate with the Head of Production and HSE advisor to ensure a safe working environment.
- Partner with the Head of Production to plan, coordinate, and control manufacturing processes across all shifts.
- Supervise daily factory operations to ensure seamless and efficient production. Implement and maintain production schedules to meet client demands and deadlines.
- Oversee plant reliability and maintenance programs, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources.
- Manage, mentor, and train a team of tradespeople, including welders, mechanical fitters, and fabricators. Utilise your expertise as a mechanical fitter to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
- Inspect and verify the quality of welds and fabrication work, adhering to applicable Australian Standards.
- Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process and lead continuous improvement initiatives in product quality and production processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to agree variations, implement design changes and improvements and assist in the development and implementation of production plans and strategies.
- Monitor production metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Trade qualification in fabrication or a related field.
- Proven experience as a mechanical fitter with a strong understanding of vibratory and screening equipment.
- Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing or production management role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Certified welding supervisor to AS2214 standards (highly desirable).
