Western Australian Centre for Perinatal Mental Health and Parenting Support is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Psychologist, Mental Health Social Worker/OT, psychotherapist or counsellor to join our passionate and dedicated multidisciplinary team of motivated women. Develop your professional skills across a variety of challenging areas.
Position:Individual and Family Therapist
Organisation: Western Australian Centre for Perinatal Mental Health and Parenting Support(part of Gosnells' Women's Health Services)
Location: Gosnells
Employment status: Part time.
FTE: Between 1-2 days per week
Salary: $70,000 - $84,999 pro rata (please note, salary sacrifice is available).
Additional non-financial renumeration includes additional annual leave, longer lunch breaks, clinical supervision, PD contributions, Wellness package and additional carers leave.

Position based at Western Australian Centre for Perinatal Mental Health and Parenting Support, Suite 7, Level 1, 2232c Albany Hwy, Gosnells WA 6110.
Job tasks and responsibilities
To improve the health and wellbeing of women and their families in the south-east metropolitan area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Counselling
- Conduct triage to identify presenting problems and underlying issues of concern; explain the counselling service offered; assess the client's ability to pay; have required documents signed.
- Contract with the client to define goals and tasks.
- Provide up to 10 counselling sessions per family utilising a range of appropriate counselling techniques.
- Participate in case conferences if required.
- Ensure that at the end of the counselling process the client has appropriate plans and supports in place to cope and progress.
- Comply with professional standards for registration body.
- Participate in clinical supervision and professional development activities.
- Where appropriate facilitate groups and workshops as agreed with Manager.
Skills and experience
SELECTION CRITERION 1
The successful applicant will have a strong theoretical knowledge of therapeutic (including diagnostic, behavioural and psychometric) assessment, and the ability to transfer this knowledge to practice. Willingness to integrate other theoretical frameworks and to treat a broad range of client issues.
SELECTION CRITERION 2
Relevant experience and training as a psychologist, mental health social worker or psychotherapist/ counsellor working with families and children.
SELECTION CRITERION 3
Accredited training and experience in working in the area of family therapy.
SELECTION CRITERION 4
The successful applicant must be able to work successfully within a multidisciplinary team and have excellent interpersonal skills. They must have a high level of both oral and written communication.
Desirable
- Member of Australian Association of family therapy
- Experience working in a non-profit organisation.
- Experience in working with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse background.
- Good knowledge of community and health services and resources and networking skills.
