Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Table Grape Farm Manager to join our team in Mundubbera. In this role, you will be the leadership resource for the site, managing a small team to deliver financial, sustainability and safety targets of the operation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Plan and coordinate the production of table grape varieties on farm
- Coordinate harvest activities with established labour hire provider partners to meet the production targets of the farm
- Organise, conduct and oversee arming operations on a day to day basis, including spraying, pruning and irrigation activities
- Manage the finances of the operations to ensure good financial outcomes
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure commercial targets are met and sales strategies are executed
- Ensure all staff are trained and supervised to an appropriate level
- Effectively manage the asset that is our Mundubbera farm
- Ensure the health and wellbeing of staff, contractors, and seasonal labour on the Farm
- Align harvest and operational activities with concurrent farm programs and seasonal priorities.
- Ensure appropriate work and training systems, processes and procedures are in place and address any identified gaps as a matter of priority.
- Lead redevelopment of vineyards and establishment of new varietal areas.
- Maintain current knowledge of agronomic research and development.
- Assist in all aspects of farming where needed
What you’ll bring to the role:
We’re looking for someone with…
- At least 5 years experience in a similar farm management position
- Significant experience working in the cultivation and production of Table Grape varieties
- Formal qualifications in a relevant field would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of crop cultivation and manipulation/protection.
- Mechanical aptitude to undertake basic diagnosis and repair of farm equipment.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Well-developed interpersonal and social skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
