About the Role:
As a Farming Systems Officer you will be working with an experience teams.
36.25 hours in this contract position until March 2025, with genuine opportunities for extension. This role is based in regional QLD and will require you to have own reliable vehicle.
Duties:
- Soil and plant sample collection, weighing, recording.
- Tractor operation planting; fertilising and application of crop protectants.
- Calibration of planters, fertiliser applicators and spray rigs.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery at field days, shed meetings and industry events.
- Attain plant growth and final yield from soybean, peanut and sugarcane crops.
- Being apart of field trials i.e benefits of reduced tillage inputs and controlled traffic in sugar-based Farming Systems and improve the productivity and profitability of grain legume rotations crops that could include plant population, fungicide strategies, irrigation timeliness and alike.
To be successful in this role, you will be need to demonstrate:
- Previous experience working in Agricultural sector (farming, sample collection, data entry);
- Experience in documentation, following process and procedures,
- Must have current C Class drivers’ licence;
- Diploma in Applied Science, Rural Science, or Rural Techniques from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications in a field relevant to the position
- Experience in working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teams;
- Reliability and ability to commence immediately;
- Ability to work in a role requiring physical fitness, lifting and working outdoors;
- Must be willing to obtain a Commercial Operators License and undergo Police Check
