Strategically located on the Liverpool Plains of NSW, one hour west of Tamworth, JBS Australia’s Caroona Feedlot employs approximately 35 people and includes a dryland and irrigation farming operation. With a licensed capacity of 28,000 head, access to an extensive network of quality cattle and ideally placed between the Riverina & Beef City plants, Caroona is a vital asset in the supply of grain fed cattle for both the JBS Queensland and New South Wales based processing facilities. The farm supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

About the Role
The JBS Caroona Feedlot has commenced the search process for an accomplished Feedlot Manager. Reporting to the Group Manager – National Feedlots, we are looking for a people-focused leader who has a passion for livestock production, a focus on feedlot performance, and the ability to ensure the feedlot delivers on its quality and livestock specification requirements.
The successful candidate will be an inclusive leader, with a focus on people safety and regulatory compliance, and who can foster a high performing culture. The Feedlot Manager has full responsibilities for the site operations together with responsibilities as a critical leader within our Northern Operations Grain-fed business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership across a diverse team encouraging an inclusive, safe, and productive team environment
- Completing site operational and financial management
- Overseeing the effective implementation and coordination of the Feeding and Milling, Animal Health and Induction, Maintenance and Manure, and the quality, safety and administration teams
- Ensuring that all regulatory and quality assurance requirements are met
- Providing on time and accurate management reports and information
- People management with a focus on site safety
- Integrating operations with the broader JBS grain-fed business
About You
- Proven ability to take ownership, show initiative, and develop strategic and operational plans
- Extensive knowledge and experience managing a high intensity and complex primary production environment at a senior level
- Experience leading within a feedlot environment advantageous
- Working knowledge and the ability to manage compliance across a range of regulatory environments
- Knowledge and experience of coaching and mentoring other leaders in a primary production environment
