Position Summary

Fellow Paediatric Surgery

This is a Recruitment Pool for the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) 2025 Medical Intake
Fixed Term Full Time appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/09/2024

Position Profile: Clinical Fellow is expected to act in a Senior Registrar role and share clinical duties with trainees and junior registrars in Paediatric Surgery at PCH. Clinical Fellow will be expected to participate in all team activities, including operating in theatre, outpatient clinics, emergency case review and management, clinical research, junior staff teaching, medical student teaching and nursing staff teaching, audit, morbidity and mortality, and attend all clinical and radiological meetings and teaching and education sessions within the hospital and department and participate in the on-call roster.

Area Profile: Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) is a new purpose built 298 bed specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre providing outstanding inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory medical care to children and adolescents up to 16 years of age. Located on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre site in Nedlands, Perth, the hospital became fully operational in June 2018 and features world class facilities specifically designed around the needs of children, adolescents, families and carers of Western Australia.
 
With state of the art technology PCH offers an extensive range of specialist paediatric medical and surgical services supported by our 2,500 strong workforce of doctors, nurses, allied health and health science, diagnostics and medical imaging technologists, support services and research and training areas. PCH is the only dedicated tertiary paediatric hospital in Western Australia and operates under the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) providing services throughout the community within Perth metropolitan area; specialized state wide services; as well as providing support to other hospitals and health services across the state.
