Casual Ferry Operator

Ferrymen NSW are the longest serving and most experienced Vehicular Ferry Operators in Australia. 

We have a casual position available to join our team of Ferry Masters operating on the Clarence River in northern NSW. Available hours range from 20-30 per week, with potential to become part-time or full-time in the future if available. 

The role includes skippering a wire-drawn ferry vessels across the Clarence River at Lawrence and Ulmarra. The job is well suited to applicants who work well in a team. Previous experience working in the maritime industry, in transport, with large plant or machinery, and with previous experience in WHS and customer service is desirable.

Applicants must be prepared for shift work, including night and weekend work. 

Applicants should have or be ready to obtain the following qualifications prior to commencing employment:

• General Boat Licence
• Domestic Seafarers Medical
• Police Check
• Working with Children Check
• First Aid Certification
• WHS White Card
• Traffic Controller Certification
