About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Field Applications Engineer to join the CAP-XX team.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this position will be responsible for:
- Investigate & help to develop new applications for supercapacitors.
- Work closely with partners and customers in developing applications.
- Respond to customer queries forwarded to Applications by the Sales Team.
- Develop solutions to meet current and future customers’ needs and contribute to the design of CAP-XX products.
- Keep abreast of energy storage and power delivery technology and industry developments.
- Contribute to and develop CAP-XX’s intellectual property portfolio.
- Design electronic circuits and supervise such designs by others.
- Write and supervise the writing of application whitepapers, reference designs, evaluation board user manuals, and technical content for our website.
- Liaise with the Sales Team to determine what technical marketing material they require.
- Conduct and supervise the evaluation of supercapacitors manufactured by 3rd party suppliers for sale under the CAP-XX brand.
- Liaise with the General Manager, Quality to produce a report for the Executive recommending acceptance or rejection of the suppliers.
- Conduct and supervise Life and Reliability testing of supercapacitors by the Applications team. Develop life estimators for supercapacitors sold by CAP-XX.
- Maintain calibration of CAP-XX instrumentation used in production or the preparation of material published by CAP-XX such as Datasheets and Application Whitepapers.
- Conduct and supervise testing of supercapacitors in support of Production and R&D.
- Conduct and supervise Failure Analysis of supercapacitors returned by customers.
- Conduct and supervise measurement of supercapacitor parameters for creation of datasheets.
- Where required accompany Sales personnel on customer visits to provide technical support.
- Where required present at conferences, prepare tradeshow demonstrations, attend tradeshow and / or train Sales Manager on how to operate the demonstration.
- Provide support to our suppliers re supercapacitor measurement, particularly with Arbins and CBIT
- Conduct training for the Sales Team and other parties on supercapacitor properties and applications as requested
- Where requested prepare Applications Engineering reports which will include Board reports.
