The Faculty of Health Sciences has an exciting opportunity for aFieldwork Systems Officerto join the team, streamline and develop our processes, and support the operational management of direct and indirect fieldwork-related systems. This rewarding role will see you interact and engage with other fieldwork officers to ensure process improvement for the faculty.
  
The Fieldwork Systems Officer is responsible for the operational management and support of direct and indirect fieldwork-related systems and works with the Fieldwork Manager and relevant staff to evaluate their business needs and facilitates improved business process outcomes. This position maintains a close relationship with relevant stakeholders and business owners and develops an intimate knowledge of the functionality to ensure efficient use of Fieldwork Systems.

You will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Provide face-to-face user education, training, and support to users of fieldwork related sytems.
  • Develop and design student and staff guidelines appropriate for access to fieldwork related systems.
  • Ensure that the software is used in a consistent manner within the faculty and that best practice is guided by institutional requirements.
  • Engage with relevant staff in the Faculty and other stakeholders to develop a detailed understanding of relevant business process and system functionalities/user requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide advice where required for the integration of Fieldwork systems with other corporate systems and seek efficient end to end processes
  • Source, collate and analyse data from SONIA and other systems to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
Essential Criteria
  • Relevant degree and work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and analyse processes, practices and procedures to support improved business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to offer solutions to problems.
  • Experience with databases and software packages, including review of functionality and issue resolution.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people in a clear and professional manner, with cross cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training to individuals and groups.
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a placement support role within the higher education sector
  • A general understanding of fieldwork placement practices
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of corporate software systems such as Student One and SONIA
